this is my first blog post! :D it's mostly a test to see how my blog pages render, and to make all the different pieces of the page look good when they come together.
i'm currently writing this post in between some <p> tags, but honestly i kind of think i might like it more if i were writing in markdown rather than HTML. however, I DO think the HTML does give me the added bonus of using components, and also formatting images and other embedded content...
like this cool formatted picture of my jewelry! these are some earrings i made in my junior year of college! i received a sun-catcher hanging decoration thingy as a birthday gift freshman year, and after about 2 years i dismantled it and used the pieces to make these earrings :) i made them for a specific event i was going to that night, and i was growing a mint plant at the time that i used to frame the earrings for this picture.
i've made a few pieces of jewelry before and i think these are probably my second favorite earrings. the amethyst ones on the right are definitely my top favorite! i bought a tiny tree whose trunk/branches were made of braided gold wire, with tiny decorative amethyst leaves, and i broke that down and turned it into these sick earrings. but unfortunately all good things must come to an end, and when i was on vacation in Las Vegas i dropped the glass earring and it shattered :(
i really like asymmetrical pairs of earrings, and both of these came from repurposed decorations and turned into some beautiful non-matching pieces. they're definitely my faves - i love a good pair of earrings, especially ones with a story!
